Wanting Mor- Abby C.

Hey People,

My book is Wanting Mor by Rukhasans Khan, It's about a girl Jameela who's mother dies and her dad is really mad at her and starts abusing her, she has a messed up lip ( which she was born with) and he makes fun of her for it. Her mom was always so nice to her and her dad never liked her, he used to never show it, but now hw does because her mothers dead. He takes her to Kabul and leaves her there. I like this book, but at some parts it gets extremly boring. It makes me feel sad, angry and annoyed with her dad (Baba)  I think I might want to ditch it but I should keep going. I would reccomend this book to people who like true stories. But remember some parts get boring, but you will like it.  :)

Cheers! Abby Cornelson

Hello earthlings of the world!
I am reading the book A Woman Among Warlords by Malalai Joya. I was enjoying the book until it started talking about politics which is not my thing. Malalai grew up with education until the Taliban banned education. Malalai's father believes that every person should get education no matter who the are. As Malalai becomes an adult she starts teaching in an undergroud school where they always have to watch out for the taliban. One day when Malalai was teaching the Taliban came in and the girls hid in a secret place under the floor and luckily the didn't find them. That reminds me of in World War 2 when familys have to go into hiding. Malalai quits her job at the school since it is to dangerous and works at a day care with kids that is just across from her house. Malalai loves her job but always has the feeling of fear. I can imagine Malalai running to the house every morning to avoid being seen. I found it interesting that the taliban scrapped of faces from painting and photograghs and chopped of mannequins and old statues. I would feel sad since there could be no photography there. I don't think I would raise my voice like Malalai because I wood just be worried that I would be killed. I wonder if  Malalai is a Christian. I don't know if I would reccomed this book because it is kind of boring, but if you like politics give it a go!!!!!!
So Long Fellow Sailers!
